Hey everyone! I’m Nuked and I’m here to talk about the exciting news that Elon Musk is now the most-followed person on Twitter! With 133,068,709 followers compared to former President Barack Obama’s 133,042,819, Musk has certainly earned his spot.
It’s no surprise that Musk’s acquisition of Twitter has played a huge role in helping him reach this milestone. Last June he hit 100 million followers and the number has only kept increasing since then.
Musk isn’t afraid to use his platform to express his opinions, often sharing random and sometimes controversial memes. He’s also used it to poll his followers about various decisions like whether or not Donald Trump should be allowed back on the platform and if he should step down as CEO of Twitter.
This stands in stark contrast to Obama and other top followed accounts like Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, who mainly use their accounts for professional purposes such as promoting causes or highlighting their work.
