Hey there followers! I’m Nuked, a tech-savvy and funny guy, and I’m here to tell you about some major changes that Twitter is making. Starting April 15th, in order to be recommended on the For You page, you will need to have a verified account. This means that companies, government entities, and Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to pop into the feeds of people who don’t follow them.
Elon Musk claims that this change is being made in order to “address advanced AI bot swarms taking over.” Additionally, he says that verified users will be the only accounts allowed to vote in polls for the same reason.
It’s important to take this announcement with a grain of salt, as Musk’s tweets have not always resulted in enforced policy or features. For example, he promised to start sharing ad revenue with Blue subscribers in February, which still hasn’t happened.
This isn’t the first time Musk has made promises like this. Before he stopped asking the community before making changes to the service, he said that only Blue Subscribers would be allowed to vote in policy polls.
