Anker’s new Nano II USB-C charger has two ports capable of outputting up to 100W, plus an old school USB-A char

Anker announced an addition to its Nano II USB-C charger lineup at CES 2022. The $ 79 Anker Nano II 100W has two USB-C ports capable of outputting up to 100W, plus an old school USB-A charging port.

The nano II chargers are 34 percent smaller than Apple’s 96w charger. The fast charging is compatible with a wide array of devices, with USB power delivery 3.0 PPS, and quick charge 3.0 support.

Using both USB-C ports simultaneously cuts Max output to 60W from the first slot and 40W from the second. Anker has a chart to break it down further.

Anker is n’t the only company using gallium nitride (Gan) for smaller, more powerful chargers. It has been ahead of the pack since showing off its first Gan power adapter in 2018.

Anker CEO Steven Yang explains why his company has been so quick to introduce Gan and iterate products based on it. In an interview with the verge EIC Nilay Patel on the decoder podcast last fall, Anker CEO explained why the company has introduced Gan.

Gallium nitride is a key enabling technology that hit the market around three years ago. But you are already talking about the third generation.

Anker was the first to introduce gallium nitride to consumer electronics charging. The chip was developed by the frontier chipset manufacturers who developed the gallium nitride charging chip.

Gan2 is the brand new generation of chips that we launched in the middle of this year. gan2’s 65-watt size was a fraction of the competition’s.

Pi and Anker have been the sole partner for almost a year. Power innovations’ newest generation of gan2 is a new generation.

Anker and Pi have had an exclusive relationship to develop the next generation Gan chipset. Then that window opens three to six months later so other people can buy that chipset.
