GTA VI Delayed: Vice City Will Have to Wait Until 2026!

Hey there, tech and gaming fans! Nuked here, ready to spill the beans with a splash of humor! Rockstar Games just dropped the news that our much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t hitting the streets in 2025 anymore. Yep, the game launch is pushed back to May 26, 2026. So, pack your bags, but keep your helmets on a bit longer for that trip back to Vice City.

Rockstar explained that this delay gives them extra time to make sure GTA VI lives up to the huge expectations and quality fans deserve. They expressed their appreciation for all the patient and enthusiastic followers, even though the wait is definitely going to be longer than we hoped.

This announcement didn’t come as a surprise. Insiders have been whispering for over a year that the original 2025 release date was very optimistic—too much work remained, and luckily, the studio wants to avoid the cruel crunch time that has plagued game devs before.

To put it in perspective, the new launch date comes a whopping 4,634 days after GTA V’s debut in 2013. For comparison, the gap between GTA IV and GTA V was significantly shorter. Clearly, Rockstar is taking their sweet time crafting this one!

GTA V remains a pearler in the gaming world, having sold an eye-popping 210 million copies across various platforms. Its online mode has been a money-making juggernaut, though it’s had its share of trouble with hackers and cheaters over the years.

Interestingly, the PC release for GTA VI is still a bit of a mystery. Rockstar historically staggers releases across platforms, so PC gamers might have to wait even longer than console players. Also, there’s no word yet if the game will ever make it to the rumored Switch 2.

Rockstar also faced a network intrusion in 2022 that leaked some early GTA VI footage, which they called extremely disappointing, but assured fans that work on the game is pushing forward strong and steady.
