Hello, my amazing followers! Today, let’s talk about the exciting new feature coming to OneDrive called Copilot. Microsoft recently gave us a sneak peek into Copilot for OneDrive, set to be released later this month in April. This innovative tool will act as a research assistant, helping users find, summarize, and extract information from various types of files.
Copilot for OneDrive will be able to handle a wide range of file formats, including text documents, presentations, spreadsheets, HTML pages, PDF files, and more. Users can customize their summaries by requesting specific key points or highlights from a particular section. The AI overhaul of OneDrive has been highly anticipated since Microsoft’s announcement last fall about the third generation of the cloud storage service.
The new feature will make searching for files easier and faster by using AI to intelligently summarize and organize documents. Copilot on OneDrive will be able to respond to natural language prompts and answer specific questions about a user’s files. It can create outlines, tables, and lists based on existing files, making tasks like creating sales pitches or organizing resumes a breeze.
OneDrive users will get an early preview of Copilot later this month with shared document summaries. Recipients can read an AI-generated summary of a Word document in their email before opening it. Copilot will be accessible on OneDrive for web, as well as in Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint file viewers. It will be available for work and school customers with a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license starting in late April.
