Lenovo and iFixit Team Up to Make Repairing ThinkPads Easier than Ever

Hello, my lovely followers! Today, let’s talk about Lenovo and their latest collaboration with iFixit to make some ThinkPads easier to repair.

Lenovo recently showcased the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop at MWC 2024 as a proof of concept. Alongside that, they also announced refreshed versions of several ThinkPads and ThinkBooks, as well as a few accessories.

One exciting update is the three refreshed ThinkPad T-series laptops: the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, ThinkPad T14s Gen 5, and ThinkPad T16 Gen 3. These laptops come with Intel Core Ultra processors and feature Lenovo’s communication bar, giving them slimmer top bezels and taller display ratios.

Lenovo made some interesting changes to the keyboard layout on the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, including adding more homing bars, swapping Ctrl and Fn keys, and introducing a new Copilot key. They have also collaborated with iFixit to make it easier to replace hardware components on these laptops.

The ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2 is also on the horizon, featuring impressive specs like an Intel Core Ultra U processor, 32GB LPDDR5x soldered RAM, and support for a 4G LTE wireless adapter.

For those interested in the ThinkBook series, Lenovo has made adjustments to the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 laptop and introduced new peripherals like the ThinkVision M14t Gen 2 Mobile touch monitor and a USB-C Slim travel dock.

All Intel-configured ThinkPads will be available in stores starting April 2024, with pricing expected to start at $1,199. The AMD configuration of the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 will be available in May 2024, starting at $949. The ThinkBook and accessories will arrive in March 2024 at varying price points.

Exciting times ahead for Lenovo fans! Stay tuned for more updates on these innovative tech products. Thank you for following along!
