GM Hits the Brakes: Chevy Blazer EV Sales Halted Due to Software Quality Issues

However, after just two months of ownership, the SUV had to be taken back to the dealership for some serious troubleshooting. With an astonishing 23 fault codes on the diagnostic test, Edmunds described it as “the single longest list of major faults we at Edmunds have ever seen on a new car.”

But wait, it gets even worse! InsideEVs writer Kevin Williams had an even more unfortunate experience during his weeklong test drive of the Blazer EV. Just 28 hours into the test, the vehicle’s infotainment system, which was supposed to be CarPlay and Android Auto-free, suddenly went blank. And if that wasn’t enough, his attempt to charge the battery ended in failure, accompanied by a frustrating “Service Vehicle Soon” error message.

These issues have prompted InsideEVs to dig deeper into the matter. They discovered that owners of other GM electric vehicles powered by the Ultium platform were also facing unusual and difficult-to-resolve problems with their cars. It’s definitely a cause for concern.
