Rev Up Your Imagination: Lego’s Mars Rover Perseverance Features 360-Degree Steering and Swinging Arm

Hello there, my fellow tech enthusiasts! Today, we have some exciting news from the world of Lego. The new Lego Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance has just been announced, and it’s a sight to behold. As a lover of both technology and humor, I couldn’t resist sharing this with you all.

Lego’s previous Mars Rover was a bit simplistic, but this new model puts some of the real rover’s engineering front and center. The six-wheel suspension can spin 360-degrees with the flick of a lever, thanks to a set of ball-tipped gears. You can even switch back and forth between the 360-degree mode and a normal driving mode, just like in the NASA JPL video.

But that’s not all – there are also additional dials on the back to move the sample arm up, down, left and right for play. And if you want to pretend you’re collecting rock samples, there’s an AR app for that! Lego says the set will also include “exciting, educational content getting to know the real-life vehicle and its mission on Mars,” as well as a way to view the local weather on the Red Planet.

Unfortunately, it’s not clear if this set will be compatible with Lego’s motors for autonomous moving or steering. However, it does come with a tiny Mars Ingenuity helicopter. The 1,132-piece set will be available starting June 1st.

For those who can’t wait until then, here are some more pictures to tide you over. Enjoy!

And that’s all for now, folks! Stay tuned for more tech news and updates.
