The Portable Pot: Link’s Most Powerful Tool in Tears of the Kingdom

Hey there, my tech-loving followers! Today I want to talk about Tears of the Kingdom’s newest gadget in The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild. The simple cooking mechanic in the game was always helpful when it came to recovering hearts or stamina wheels, but Tears of the Kingdom takes it to a whole new level with the introduction of the portable pot.

Despite taking place shortly after Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom leaves Link vulnerable and back at square one. As you encounter mechanical Zonai creatures, you soon realize that your new toga and sandals offer little defensive protection. This is where the portable pot comes in handy.

The portable pot is a simple and straightforward Zonai device that can be received from one of the many Zonai device dispensers scattered across Hyrule. Although it can only be used to cook single meals, you can carry dozens of them with you everywhere you go. This makes it one of Tears of the Kingdom’s most powerful tools because of how food and elixirs affect Link.

Unlike in Breath of the Wild, where you could only prepare full meals at fixed locations, Tears of the Kingdom’s portable pots travel with you. This allows you to whip up some emergency vittles on the fly, which is especially handy when you find yourself in need of extra vitality or strength in a pinch.

The portable pots are sort of meant to serve a similar function to Link’s new fusing ability. Using Fuse in Tears of the Kingdom allows you to combine weapons, shields, and other consumable items together to become more powerful versions of themselves. This mechanic encourages you to collect resources as you go and incentivizes you to keep them on hand just in case.

While having a collection of breakable stoves may not seem as impressive as having glowing telekinesis or the power to magically rewind localized time, it’s one of your best bets at staying alive and formidable enough to find Princess Zelda. So, make sure to keep your pocket pantry stocked with ample ingredients and portable pots!

That’s all for now, folks. Let me know in the comments what you think about Tears of the Kingdom’s newest gadget. Until next time!
