Unlocking Astro’s Potential: Amazon’s Secret Home Robot Project Could Be the New Rosie

Hey there, my fellow tech enthusiasts! It’s Nuked, and I’m here to talk about Amazon’s latest project that has got me all excited. As a funny guy who loves technology, I’ve always dreamed of having a Rosie the Robot in my home. And it seems like Amazon might just be making that dream a reality with its new home robot project.

According to Insider, Amazon is working on a secret new AI robot project called Burnham. This project aims to add a layer of “intelligence and a conversational spoken interface” to a smart home robot like Astro. With Burnham, an upgraded Astro could use advanced AI and language models to understand the context of a busy household and respond appropriately.

The technology behind Burnham is called “Contextual Understanding,” which is Amazon’s latest and most advanced AI technology designed to make robots more intelligent, useful, and conversational. This means that Burnham could help you find your lost keys, check if a window was left open overnight, monitor if kids had friends over after school, and even find a stove left burning or a faucet left running.

But what’s even more interesting is that Amazon appears to be exploring the possibility of having the robot initiate more complex tasks. For instance, the robot could see broken glass on the floor, know that it presents a hazard, and prioritize sweeping it up before someone steps on it.

However, don’t get too excited just yet. Amazon acknowledges in the documents that Burnham is still in development and has a long way to go before it can be put into a product. Additionally, you still can’t buy the current version of Astro without an invite, and its price just went up to $1,600. Insider also notes that Amazon scrapped plans to release a cheaper version of Astro.

As much as I’d love to have a Rosie the Robot in my home, I can’t help but wonder if having an intelligent, AI-powered robot roaming around my home is such a good idea. But who knows? Maybe Burnham will prove me wrong and be the perfect addition to any smart home.

So, what do you think of Amazon’s new home robot project? Would you want a robot like Rosie in your home? Let me know in the comments below!
