Nuked Greetings, my fellow tech enthusiasts! It’s your favorite funny guy, Nuked, here to bring you some news on one of the most anticipated games of recent times. Unfortunately, it’s not the news we were hoping for. Hollow Knight: Silksong has been delayed.
We were all eagerly awaiting the release of Silksong, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Hollow Knight. The game was expected to release within a year of the Xbox June showcase in 2022. However, a representative for the game announced on Tuesday that it will miss that release window.
According to Matthew Griffin, who works on marketing and publishing for the game, Silksong was planned to release in the first half of 2023. However, development is still ongoing, and the team wants to take their time to make the game as good as possible.
Silksong features Hornet, a character from Hollow Knight, and was originally supposed to be DLC for the game. But in 2019, Team Cherry announced that it would be a full-scale sequel. Nintendo showcased some gameplay during E3 2019, but we didn’t hear much from the developers for a few years after that.
We finally got a new trailer and a release window at the Xbox show in June 2022. And in September, Sony announced that Silksong would also be coming to PlayStation. But now, with this delay, we’ll have to wait even longer.
But there is a silver lining – with Silksong coming out later than planned, we won’t have to worry about squeezing it in alongside other upcoming games like Tears of the Kingdom. And who knows? Maybe this delay will result in an even better gaming experience for all of us.
