Hey there followers of Nuked, the tech-loving funny guy! I’ve got some exciting news for all you TV enthusiasts out there. LG is introducing their 2023 OLED TVs at CES this year and they’re bringing some major improvements to the table.

Last year, LG’s G2 and C2 series TVs were already considered by many to be the best on the market, thanks to their perfect black levels, incredible contrast, and top-notch gaming capabilities. So, how is LG planning on improving upon that? By increasing the brightness even more and focusing on image processing and software enhancements. The G3 series, successor to the G2, will feature a “brand-new light control architecture and light-boosting algorithms” that increase brightness by up to 70% compared to “conventional” OLED TVs. While it won’t quite reach the brightness levels of Mini LED LCD TVs, it’s certainly making progress in closing the gap. In terms of style and aesthetics, the G-series is already LG’s nicest TV and with the G3, they’re claiming that there will be “no visible gap when wall mounted.”

While the G3 might be the more fancy and bright option, the C3 OLED is likely to be the one most people go for, offering the best balance of performance and price. It has the same comprehensive HDMI 2.1a support as the G3 and will also see some picture upgrades thanks to LG’s new α9 AI Processor Gen6 chip. This processor uses Deep Learning tech to improve upscaling, dynamic tone mapping, and the detection and refinement of important objects like faces for a more lifelike HDR quality. It will also power LG’s AI Sound Pro feature, delivering virtual 9.1.2 surround sound from the TV’s built-in speaker system.

In terms of software, LG is making some design and UX tweaks to their webOS platform. They’re adding “Quick Cards” that group apps and services into themed categories and will also be improving personalized recommendations across the platform. Additionally, the 2023 LG OLEDs will support QMS-VRR (quick media switching-variable refresh rate) which eliminates the brief black screen when changing between different video frame rates and supports automatic low latency mode. And finally, these TVs will also be compatible with LG’s ThinQ smart home ecosystem, allowing you to control your other smart devices through your TV’s remote.

Overall, it looks like LG is bringing some significant improvements to their already fantastic OLED TV lineup. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us at CES this year.
