Sony is investigating after some of its games suddenly stopped selling for real money

The problem seems to mostly affect classic titles, preventing users from playing Chrono cross, Chrono trigger, and final fantasy VI.

The game expired on December 31, 1969 at 7:20 PM. Twitter user Christopher foose shared an image of the game.

The date on new downloads is set to 12/31/1969. This is preventing me from playing my purchased copies on Vita and PS3.

Gameshub editor Edmond Tran found he was unable to play Chrono cross on the PS3 due to a 52-year-old expiration date. He was n’t able to find the listing on the PS Vita store, a sign that Sony may have taken it down.

Some players say they’ve tried factory resetting their consoles and restoring their game licenses, all to no avail. Playstation has yet to acknowledge the situation, and the game company did n’t immediately respond to the verge’s request for comment.

A glitch caused the PS Vita and PS3 to revert the game licenses’ expiration dates to the begun of a console’s life.
