Uber has secured a 30-month – or two-and-a-half-year license to keep ridesharing services up and running in London. This marks the end of a lengthy battle with the city’s transportation agency, transport for London, over Uber’s safety protocols.

Uber was granted a license to operate in London for 18 months in 2020. Tfl said the company was still not’fit and proper’ to operate.
Uber lost a legal battle in the UK over its drivers’ employment status last year. The company now has to start classifying its UK-based drivers as employees, granting them minimum wage, paid vacation, and other benefits.
