The livestream was packed with all sorts of goodies, including 15 minutes of fresh gameplay, juicy information, a thrilling trailer, and most importantly, a release date. Get ready to mark your calendars for March 22nd because that’s when this highly anticipated game will hit the shelves!
Now, hold on a second. Before the livestream even started on November 28th, the game’s Steam page made a little oopsie and accidentally leaked the release date as March 21st. But fear not, my friends! The livestream confirmed that the actual date is a day later, giving us a double treat as Princess Peach: Showtime! also launches on the same day. (Funny enough, Steam still hasn’t updated their page, so it’s showing the wrong date. Oopsie again!)
Let’s dive into some of the exciting features showcased during the event. One of the highlights was the introduction of a new class called the trickster. Now, don’t let the name fool you; this isn’t your typical rogue class. The trickster takes necromancy to a whole new level by utilizing a censer that resembles a medieval flail. By conjuring constructs from smoke, this class tricks enemies into fighting each other. Talk about ingenious class design!
Aside from the gameplay elements, I’m also intrigued by the breadcrumbs of the story that were revealed. While Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t promise a groundbreaking narrative, it appears to heavily focus on geopolitical intrigue. As someone who enjoys a good dose of political maneuvering, this aspect of the game has definitely caught my attention.
All in all, Dragon’s Dogma 2 may not be the game that takes the world by storm in 2024, but it certainly offers an enticing and laid-back sword and board action experience. Sometimes, we just need a game that allows us to take our time and immerse ourselves in its world, and I have a feeling that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will deliver just that.
