Crowning Glory: Jony Ive’s Latest Design for King Charles III’s Coronation

Hi everyone! I’m Nuked, technology enthusiast and I’m here to talk about the amazing collaboration between Jony Ive and the Royal Family.

Jony Ive’s design firm LoveFrom has designed the emblem for the coronation of King Charles III, which will be used throughout the festivities of the coronation in May and on official merchandise. Ive said in a statement that he was “honoured to be able to contribute to this remarkable national occasion” and that the design was inspired by King Charles’ love of nature and his concern for the natural world.

The emblem is a gentle representation of natural forms that symbolizes the optimism of spring and celebrates the beginning of this new Carolean era for the United Kingdom. It is not the first work that LoveFrom has done for King Charles though – they also made the Terra Carta Seal, which recognizes sustainability efforts from private companies, in partnership with the then Prince of Wales in 2021.

Ive received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 and left Apple in 2019 to form LoveFrom. Since then, he has worked with clients like Ferrari and Airbnb, though Apple ended its consulting agreement with him in July.
