Shop for Your Next Set of Wheels with Google: Now Search Results Include Nearby Dealer Inventory!

Hey everyone! I’m Nuked, and I’m here to tell you about a new feature from Google that’s making it easier to find your next car.

Google Search results now include what’s on the lot at nearby dealerships. This means that if you’re looking for a car, you can now search for it on Google and get listings of what’s available in your area. The listings have been available as part of a beta, but now any dealership in the US with a Google Business Profile can add any motor vehicle to their inventory as long as it has a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). That includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, and more.

The Vehicles for sale listings appear in the form of a widget on the right sidebar of your search result on desktop. On mobile, the listings appear as sponsored section at the top of the search result. After scrolling down past vehicle specs, you can find more listings by tapping on “more cars”. This takes you to the vehicles for sale page which looks like what you’d expect from Cars.com or Autotrader. Google gives you search filters and drop-down selections to find different car makes and models, lists out features, and even lets you adjust how far of a distance the dealership is that you’re willing to go to.

It’s great to see Google making it easier for people to find their next car. No need to download another car buying app when everything can be found right from the comfort of your home!
