Reviving Nostalgia: Delta Emulator to Bring Online Multiplayer to Nintendo DS Classics!

Hello, my awesome tech enthusiasts! It’s Nuked here, ready to dive into some exciting news about the Delta emulator. Grab your controllers and let’s race into it!

The fantastic Delta emulator for iOS is about to level up! Soon, it will introduce online multiplayer support for Nintendo DS games, as confirmed by the developer Riley Testut. Just picture it: a thrilling Mario Kart DS race brought to life on the emulator, reminiscent of those good old days spent battling friends on our trusty DS systems.

It’s been a while since Nintendo pulled the plug on the DS’s online services back in 2014. Curious about how this new online setup will function, we reached out to Testut for some insights. He explained that the multiplayer feature will utilize melonDS’ online capabilities, connecting to various third-party Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection servers like Kaeru, Wimmfi, and AltWFC. So get ready—over 10 million Delta users will soon be able to race against each other and even against players on actual devices!

For now, though, keep in mind that this multiplayer feature will initially be limited to Nintendo DS titles only. Testut reassured us that all DS games compatible with Nintendo WFC will be supported. Plus, the Delta team has no plans to create their own server, meaning that this online multiplayer experience will be completely free when it rolls out.

Now, don’t get too impatient just yet! The online multiplayer feature will first be released in a beta version for Patreon subscribers. Testut mentioned that there isn’t a public release date available just yet. But hey, at least you’ll have plenty of time to hone your skills in Mario Kart DS before hitting the virtual racetrack!
