Valorant Makes its Console Debut: Limited Beta Coming Soon!

Hey there, my fellow tech enthusiasts! Nuked here with some exciting news for all you Valorant fans out there.

Riot’s tactical shooter, Valorant, has been a PC-exclusive since its launch in 2020. But get ready, because the game is finally making its way to consoles! The console version will be available in a limited beta on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S starting on June 14th. Don’t forget to register if you want to get in on the action!

The beta will be limited to certain regions initially, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, and Japan. Riot has mentioned that the console versions will have custom-built gameplay and will not support crossplay with PC for competitive reasons. However, cross-progression will be available if you switch between platforms.

According to production director Arnar Hrafn Gylfason, Riot was determined to make sure that Valorant’s core gameplay felt natural on a controller. They wanted to ensure that players would have a seamless experience whether they were playing on PC or console. The team hopes they’ve hit the mark, but they’re leaving it up to the players to decide.

In addition to the console version, a mobile version of Valorant was announced in 2021. While there hasn’t been much news on that front, it’s clear that Riot is looking to expand the game’s reach across different platforms. With so many online shooters out there, Valorant will have some tough competition, but we’re excited to see how it stacks up against the rest!
