Latest Smartphone Launch: The New Phone 3 by Nothing

Hey everyone! Nuked here, ready to dive into some exciting tech news with a sprinkle of humor. Today, we’re talking about the fresh addition to the smartphone world: Nothing’s latest flagship phone, the Phone (3).

After two years, Nothing finally unveiled the Phone (3) at an event in London. Priced starting at $799, it aims to compete with giants like Samsung and Apple. Since debuting Phone (1) in 2022, Nothing’s known for its transparent design, something that makes all tech lovers smile. The new model sticks to this aesthetic but adds a quirky camera setup that might trigger those who dislike misaligned elements on screens!

One of the standout features is the revamped Glyph interface—LED lights arranged on the back to notify you of alerts. Now, this is upgraded to a small circular LED screen called Glyph Matrix, displaying colorful patterns and even mini-apps like spin the bottle or rock-paper-scissors. These features give a fresh look and extra info without unlocking your entire phone.

Of course, AI is part of the package. The Phone (3) introduces Essential Space—you can record meetings and get AI transcriptions and summaries, though there’s no web access yet for these transcriptions. Plus, Essential Search, akin to Spotlight or Siri, lets you search your device with keywords or natural language, connected to ChatGPT’s capabilities for smarter searches.

Specifications-wise, this device holds up well. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, it includes a 50 MP main camera, a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, ultra-wide lens with a 114-degree view, and a selfie camera upgraded to 50 MP. The battery is 5150 mAh, supporting 65W wired and 15W wireless charging. It runs on Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15 and will get updates up to Android 16. The company promises five years of software and seven years of security updates.

Two storage options are available: 256GB for $799 and 512GB for $899. Pre-orders start on July 4, with the device hitting shelves on July 15. The phone will be available in the U.S. via Nothing’s website and Amazon, making it accessible to a wider audience. This move marks a step up from their previous devices, which were more restricted.
