Hailing from New York, Infinite Machine has just announced the Olto, a cozy seated scooter set to hit the streets with a price tag of $3,495 later this year. It’s not just a scooter; it’s a versatile ride with a 40-mile range thanks to a quick-swap 48V lithium-ion battery.

The Olto can reach speeds of 20 mph on bike lanes and up to 33 mph off-road, powered by a strong 750W rear hub motor. It includes a headlight with high and low beams and turn signals, making it safe and practical for city adventures.

What makes the Olto stand out is its modular design. Attach or detach accessories like a cargo rack, child carrier, or basket—kind of like building your dream city ride! Plus, fold-out pedals enable pedal assist, turning it into a sort of e-bike when needed. It seats two and features a dual-suspension frame for a smooth ride.

While the price is hefty, it’s less than half of Infinite Machine’s flagship P1, which costs $10,000. The P1 has already started shipping, but Olto aims for broader accessibility. Nonetheless, selling these in the U.S. remains tough due to market hurdles and industry shifts, including recent struggles of brands like Rad Power Bikes and VanMoof.

Infinite Machine, led by CEO Joseph Cohen, hopes to see its vehicles in major cities worldwide, starting with the U.S. market, despite the rocky landscape for electric two-wheelers. They previously made waves with the P1 scooter, backed by a $9 million investment from Andreessen Horowitz.
