Hugging Face, the well-known AI platform, is making waves following its push into robotics. They’ve unveiled two exciting humanoid robots, HopeJR and Reachy Mini, both open-source and budget-friendly.

HopeJR, the larger of the duo, boasts 66 independent movements, including walking and arm manipulation. Designed by @therobotstudio, this full-size robot aims to lower barriers for robotics enthusiasts. It’s estimated to cost around $3,000 per unit. Reachy Mini, on the other hand, is a desktop-sized robot capable of moving its head, talking, and listening, perfect for testing AI applications. It’s expected to be priced between $250 and $300, depending on tariffs.

The company hasn’t set an exact shipment date yet, but CEO Clem Delangue hinted that the first units could ship by year’s end. Enthusiasts can join the waitlist now. The robots are open-source, allowing anyone to build, modify, and understand how they work, promoting a more democratized robotics scene.

This launch was facilitated by Hugging Face’s acquisition of Pollen Robotics, enhancing its capabilities. Over the past year, they’ve also released an upgraded 3D-printed robotic arm, SO-101, and expanded training data for their LeRobot platform—showing a growing commitment to robotics innovation.
