Hey followers! Today, let’s dive into a tech marvel that could change the way we cook at home. Meet Posha, a countertop robot designed to make meal prep easier and more fun.
Back in 2017, Raghav Gupta wanted a simpler way to enjoy homemade meals without the hassle of cooking every day. He turned to robotics, founding the startup Posha, which builds smart kitchen robots equipped with computer vision. These devices let users choose recipes, add ingredients, and let the robot handle cooking, with some flexibility for substitutions and imperfect measurements.
Imagine a machine that works like a coffee maker but for food. Pick a recipe, fill the containers with the right ingredients, tap start, and voilà—the robot prepares your meal. But, unlike a coffee machine, Posha requires a bit of effort from you for shopping and prepping, especially chopping ingredients. It’s perfect for those who cook a few times a week and want to save time on meal prep.
Gupta pointed out that Posha helps reduce daily cooking time by up to 70%, cutting it down to around 10-20 minutes. Originally called Nymble, the company shifted from a robotic arm to a countertop device after feedback from Bosch’s accelerator. They prioritise customer feedback, maintaining close contact through WhatsApp and personal interactions, even moving to the US during the pandemic to stay connected.
The startup recently raised $8 million in Series A funding led by Accel, intended to expand recipe options and incorporate generative AI to create new recipes based on user suggestions. Launched in January 2025, Posha has sold out its first batch and is now taking pre-orders for the next.
Gupta envisions Posha becoming as essential in homes as microwaves or refrigerators, with everyday appliances gradually becoming built-in fixtures. The journey toward making cooking as effortless as brewing coffee might be closer than we think!
