Latin America Gains Momentum as U.S. Companies Seek AI Developers

Hello followers! Today, let’s explore how Latin America is becoming a hotbed for AI talent, especially for U.S. companies craving top-tier developers. The shift towards remote and distributed teams is fueling this exciting trend.

Despite many firms pushing employees back into office spaces, Latin America continues to shine as a prime source for talented developers. Revelo, a platform with over 400,000 vetted Latin American programmers, reports a recent surge in demand for engineers who can enhance large language models (LLMs). The focus is on post-training AI models, where skilled human input is crucial for refining AI performance.

Lucas Mendes, Revelo’s CEO, highlights that companies are eager to find experts in specific coding languages to fill gaps after initial model training. This niche demand made up 22% of Revelo’s revenue in 2024 and is especially prominent among giants like Intuit, Oracle, and Dell, as well as hyperscale AI providers.

Even with the growing trend of in-office work, the appeal of Latin American developers remains strong due to their proximity in time zones, making nearshoring highly attractive. Revelo’s strategic acquisitions in the region further bolster its mission to build a resilient global talent network for the AI era.

Other players like Terminal, Tecla, and Near are also connecting U.S. firms with Latin American programmers. Revelo’s foundation was laid back in 2014, driven by the intense competition for talent. The platform’s growth skyrocketed during the pandemic, as U.S. companies realized the benefits of distributed teams in Latin America—both quality and cost-effective.

Despite the return to in-person work, demands for Latin American developers persist, thanks to their geographic and cultural advantages. Revelo’s recent acquisitions and ongoing expansion aim to cement its role in this burgeoning ecosystem, supporting the next wave of AI innovations worldwide.
