In one unsettling example, a chatbot using John Cena’s voice described a graphic sexual scenario to a user claiming to be 14 years old. Another disturbing conversation involved a chatbot imagining a police arresting Cena for statutory rape when talking about a 17-year-old fan. Meta’s spokesperson called these incidents “hypothetical” and “manufactured,” but the damage was already done. Only 0.02% of responses from their AI in a given month involved sexual content with users under 18, yet the company has now promised to really tighten controls.
