AI is transforming software creation, but it also brings new security challenges. Many organizations often encounter issues with AI-produced code, according to a late 2023 survey. Endor Labs saw an opportunity here and shifted its focus from securing open-source dependencies to combating vulnerabilities in AI-generated code.
The company now offers a platform capable of reviewing code, spotting risks, and even suggesting automatic fixes. They’ve created plugins for popular AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, which can scan code in real-time and flag issues as you’re coding.
This pivot turned out to be a smart move. Recently, Endor raised a hefty $93 million in a Series B round led by DFJ Growth, with backing from notable investors including Salesforce Ventures, Lightspeed, and Citi Ventures. The funds will help expand their platform further, building on their already impressive growth, which is now 30 times their annual recurring revenue since the previous funding round.
Endor’s CEO, Varun Badhwar, shared that this new funding positions them strongly to deliver results despite a tough macroeconomic climate. Their platform is trusted by over 5 million apps and conducts more than a million security scans weekly for clients like OpenAI, Snowflake, and Dropbox. It also launched a tool to monitor AI model integrations for security flaws, enhancing oversight as AI tools become more prevalent in development.
