Elon Musk’s AI startup, xAI, has launched a new feature for their Grok chatbot that makes it remember previous conversations. This allows Grok to give more tailored responses when asked for suggestions or advice, as it can recall details from your past chats.
Grok’s new “memory” feature is currently in beta and can be used on Grok.com as well as the iOS and Android apps. You can turn it off in the settings or delete specific memories easily. Interestingly, this feature isn’t yet available for users in the EU or UK, but xAI is working on bringing it there soon. Plus, they plan to integrate this memory function into the Grok experience on X (formerly Twitter).
Grok’s memory is similar to features offered by ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, which can store and reference chat history to personalize replies. The official Grok account describes these memories as transparent, so users can see what Grok remembers and decide what to forget.
When activated, Grok will remember your conversations, making responses more personal and relevant over time. This new capability aims to bring Grok on par with top AI rivals, offering a more natural and engaging experience for users.
