Hello to all my tech-loving friends! Today, we’re diving into the exciting world of Gran Turismo 7 and its new AI advancements.

The journey began in 2022 when a team at Sony successfully created an unstoppable AI racer, named GT Sophy, designed to conquer the tracks. It was not just a matter of mastering car controls; Sophy also learned the nuances of racing tactics, strategies, and even etiquette!

Fast forward to a thrilling showdown in 2021, where GT Sophy showcased its prowess against the world’s best human racers, triumphing in an impressive 104 races to 52.

Since then, the developers at Sony and Polyphony Digital set out to fine-tune Sophy into a more enjoyable competitor for everyone. The latest upgrade, GT Sophy 2.1, has enhanced the gaming experience with more track options and customizable race settings.

Kaushik Subramanian from Sony AI said it best: “With GT Sophy 2.1, we allow players greater control over their racing experience, enabling them to test new strategies and enhance their skills.”

Now, players can race on 19 tracks, a significant increase from the original nine. The AI also offers different levels of challenges—easy, medium, and hard—perfect for all kinds of racers.

The customization options score high as players can determine race length, enable damage, and even influence tire wear and fuel consumption!

This new AI setup adds a refreshing twist to the game—competitive, yet capable of blunders, bringing realistic challenges that make racing even more thrilling!
