Hello, tech enthusiasts! Today we have some news that might give you a mixed bag of feelings.
OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, recently shared that the highly anticipated launch of ChatGPT’s new AI image features for free users is going to be delayed. It turns out that the excitement surrounding this feature is beyond what anyone expected!
According to Altman, the demand for images in ChatGPT is through the roof, even surpassing their already high expectations.
Just a day prior, OpenAI had announced the rollout of GPT-4o’s image generation capabilities, allowing users to upload and modify images. However, these features are currently only available to ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Teams subscribers.
This isn’t the first hiccup for OpenAI. There have been a few product launches that faced similar delays, mostly due to a lack of computing capacity.
In light of this, it’s possible that the upcoming $500 billion Stargate data center project could ease some of those capacity constraints, paving the way for smoother rollouts in the future.
