Recent data from a detailed survey conducted by the Pew Research Center indicates that the support for banning TikTok has seen a notable decline. Out of over 5,000 U.S. adults surveyed, only 34% favored the ban, compared to 50% in a similar 2023 study.
Interestingly, as the ban’s backing has waned, the number of individuals opposed to it has increased significantly, jumping from 22% to 32% in the same period. This change is observable across political lines, where supporters among Republican voters plummeted from 60% to just 30%.
