Hey tech enthusiasts! Today, we dive into a serious issue that affects millions.
Japanese telecom giant NTT Communications (NTT Com) recently confirmed a major cyberattack that compromised the data of nearly 18,000 corporate customers.
This incident, discovered on February 5, uncovered unauthorized access to an internal system handling service orders.
The hackers accessed sensitive data, including names, contract numbers, emails, and physical addresses, potentially impacting countless individuals.
Though NTT Com boasts over 100,000 customers across 70 countries, they have not yet disclosed how many individual employees were affected.
After swiftly restricting access to compromised devices, NTT Com found out on February 15 that the hackers had exploited another device, which was promptly disconnected.
The nature of this breach remains uncertain, with no claims from major ransomware groups linked to the attack.
As telecom companies have become prime targets for cybercriminals, incidents like this highlight the ongoing vulnerability of vital sectors.
If you’ve been affected by this breach or have insights to share, feel free to reach out securely.
