Unlocking Insights: Gemini Now Answers Your PDF Questions with a Simple Tap!

Hello, tech enthusiasts! It’s your favorite tech aficionado, Nuked, here to sprinkle a little humor and insight into the latest tech news. Let’s dive into the exciting updates about Gemini and its new PDF capabilities!

Gemini has just leveled up its game! In the newest update of the Files by Google app, you can now summon Gemini while gazing at a PDF on your phone. This nifty feature allows you to ask questions about the file, as reported by Android Police. However, a little heads-up: you’ll need to be a Gemini Advanced subscriber to unlock this magic.

According to Mishaal Rahman, who shared the scoop on Friday, this feature is starting to roll out. If you’re fortunate enough to have it, you’ll notice an “Ask about this PDF” button pop up when you call upon Gemini while viewing a PDF in the Files app. Just like asking ChatGPT about a document, this new capability lets you dig deeper into your files.

Google first teased this screen-aware functionality during its I/O developer conference back in May, and it’s exciting to see it come to life! Rahman even shared a screenshot showcasing how it works in action—definitely worth checking out!

But wait, there’s more! Gemini isn’t just limited to PDFs; it also allows users to inquire about web pages and YouTube videos. For those apps or file types that don’t support Gemini’s context-aware features yet, fear not! The assistant can still lend a hand by providing answers based on your screen using a screenshot it captures when you hit “Ask about this screen.”

So there you have it! With these new features rolling out, Gemini is becoming an even more helpful companion for all your digital inquiries. Stay tuned for more fun tech updates from yours truly!
