Blockbusters and Beyond: This Week’s Must-See Trailers from Minecraft to Alien!

Hello, my tech-savvy friends! It’s your favorite funny guy, Nuked, here to bring you a delightful rundown of this week’s trailers. Buckle up; it’s going to be a pixelated ride!

This week, I took a nostalgic trip to the theater to catch a black-and-white screening of Johnny Mnemonic featuring the one and only Keanu Reeves. For those who might not know, this film is a classic (in its own quirky way) from the mid-90s cyberpunk era. It tells the story of a data courier with a brain full of information, who has to erase his childhood memories to make room for work. Spoiler alert: it’s still not winning any Oscars! While the plot holes and pacing issues are hard to ignore, it’s visually interesting. And let’s not forget Ice-T as J-Bone—what a throwback! The audience even clapped at the end, which was surprising considering its past reception.

Now, let’s dive into some of the fresh trailers that have dropped this week—hopefully, they’ll be more enjoyable than my trip down memory lane!

A Minecraft Movie is on the horizon! The latest trailer gives us a glimpse into Jack Black’s character, Steve, and his backstory. We see a younger Steve (with a brown beard—how cute!) as he mines his way into the colorful block world. He discovers he can build anything he dreams up, provided it’s made from blocks. Plus, Jason Momoa and others join an older Steve (now sporting a distinguished gray beard). Mark your calendars for April 4th!

Elio is back in the spotlight with its new teaser trailer! This Pixar gem comes from the talented Coco screenwriter Adrian Molina, co-directed by Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian. The story follows Elio, voiced by Yonas Kibreab, who gets abducted by aliens and pretends to be Earth’s leader. If it hits me like Coco did, prepare for some serious tear-jerking moments. Catch it in theaters on June 13th!

Alien: Earth is set to land in summer 2025! This FX spinoff promises to show us what it might be like encountering those shiny xenomorphs right here on our planet. Not much detail has been revealed yet—just that they’re still very shiny! But hey, we’ve got Aliens vs. Predator if you’re looking for some action in the meantime.

Star Wars Outlaws is spicing things up with its first DLC called Wild Card! This storyline introduces Lando Calrissian into the mix. If you’ve been away from the game for a while, now might be the perfect time to jump back in and join Lando for some epic space battles. Wild Card is available now for $14.99!

And last but not least, we have How to Train Your Dragon, which is getting a live-action makeover. It will go head-to-head with Elio when it releases on June 13th. Talk about some fierce competition!

That wraps up this week’s exciting trailer roundup! Stay tuned for more techy goodness and cinematic adventures!
