Electoral College Invasion: How to Banish the Annoying Toggle from Your iPhone!

Hello, tech enthusiasts! It’s your pal Nuked here, ready to sprinkle some humor on your tech troubles. Let’s dive into the world of the Electoral College and how to kick that pesky toggle off your screen!

So, if you’ve been minding your own business and suddenly found a black toggle showcasing the electoral vote counts for the 2024 presidential race on your iPhone, fear not! Some iOS users, especially those sporting the Washington Post app, have encountered this little gremlin. On my phone, it’s chilling out in the dynamic island area, just waiting to annoy you.

Now, tapping on this sneaky toggle doesn’t make it disappear; it only expands to show more details about the race and features cute little portraits of candidates. Cute? Yes. Helpful when you just want it gone? Absolutely not! If you’re eager to reclaim your screen space, here’s how to banish that electoral nuisance.

First things first, head over to your Settings. Once there, scroll down until you see Apps. Give that a tap and find the Washington Post app lurking in the list. When you click on it, look for Live Activities and turn off the toggle for Allow Live Activities. Voilà! The annoying electoral count toggle should disappear faster than a magician’s rabbit!

If you feel like playing nice and want to bring back that live count later, just reverse those steps. Turn Allow Live Activities back on in your settings, then open the Washington Post app. Look for the gear wheel icon in the upper right corner to access settings again. Select Live Activity Settings and turn on the toggle for live updates from the presidential race. You might also need to click “Start Presidential Activity” below that just to ensure everything’s up and running.

Oh, and if you happen to be an Apple News user, guess what? They have their own version of this hell-toggle too! While I’m not personally haunted by it (lucky me!), I imagine you can dismiss it in a similar way through your iOS settings.

And there you have it! No more electoral distractions on your screen. Now go forth and enjoy your tech without those pesky toggles invading your space!
