Unlocking Innovation: Meet the Boox Palma 2 – Faster, Smarter, and Now with Fingerprint Security!

Hello, my tech-savvy friends! It’s your buddy Nuked here, ready to dive into the latest in e-reader goodness. Let’s get started!

The Boox Palma 2 is here, boasting a snappier processor and a handy fingerprint reader! Boox has unveiled the next iteration of its smartphone-sized e-reader, addressing some of the quirks from the original model. This time around, you’ll find a faster processor that promises to tackle that pesky laggy interface, along with an upgrade to a newer Android version.

The Palma 2 is up for preorder now, available in classy ivory white or sleek deep cyan black for $279.99. Interestingly, this price point matches that of its predecessor. While it may be pricier than some premium e-readers like the newly launched $199.99 Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition—featuring a larger display and a more refined interface—the Palma 2 still holds its ground.

Whereas the original Palma operated on Android 11, the Palma 2 will launch with Android 13. But fear not! The compact size and access to a vast array of apps that made the Palma popular remain unchanged. It retains the same 6.13-inch 300ppi E Ink Carta 1200 screen as its predecessor, along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Although Boox hasn’t spilled all the beans, they’ve indicated that the Palma 2 now sports a “faster octa-core CPU,” which should help eliminate those annoying interface delays. Plus, running on Android 13 means you’ll enjoy newer features like improved copying and pasting capabilities—always a bonus!

Another exciting addition is the fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, making it super convenient to secure your device and unlock it with just one hand. Talk about efficiency!

The Palma 2 also keeps its rear-facing camera for document digitization. Despite some rumors about Boox removing cameras from their smartphone-sized e-readers, that’s only true for a specific version of the Palma intended for China. The Palma 2 retains the same 16MP rear camera with flash as before, which is quite handy for turning physical documents into digital files.

But wait, there’s more! Alongside the Palma 2, Boox has introduced two new e-paper note-taking devices. The 10.3-inch Note Air4 C features an upgraded Kaleido 3 color E Ink display with better refresh rates and an octa-core processor that makes it a whopping 50% faster than its predecessor. Priced at $499.99, it also runs on Android 13 and comes with a new “tablet-like UI” for customizing your homescreen and organizing apps seamlessly.

Last but not least is the Boox Note Max—a black-and-white tablet with stylus capabilities sporting a larger 13.3-inch E Ink Carta 1300 display powered by a speedy 2.8GHz octa-core CPU. At just 4.6 millimeters thick, it’s impressively slim compared to the Palma 2! However, this beauty won’t be available for preorder just yet; you’ll have to wait a few more weeks for that.

So there you have it! The Boox Palma 2 and its companions are set to bring some exciting upgrades to your reading experience. Stay tuned for more tech news from yours truly!
