It seems that Amazon is considering bringing in former news anchor Brian Williams to host a special event on election night, according to reports from Variety. This show is expected to be a “non-partisan discussion” featuring various guests as the election results roll in.
Now, it’s been a minute since Williams has been in the news spotlight. He stepped away from NBC’s Nightly News after it was revealed that he had embellished some of his reporting. Afterward, he hosted MSNBC’s 11th Hour until he decided to part ways with the network in 2021.
If all goes as planned, Williams could kick off the presidential election night broadcast on November 5th at around 5 PM ET and stay on air for an impressive eight hours or longer if things get spicy and the election remains too close to call, as per Variety’s sources.
Interestingly, the show won’t be focused on breaking news updates. Instead, Williams and his guests will provide analysis and insights throughout the evening. And just to clarify, they won’t be making any calls on who wins the race, according to The Daily Beast.
