Hey there, tech enthusiasts! It’s your favorite tech-loving jokester, Nuked, here to bring you the latest buzz from the gaming universe.
Valve has officially pulled back the curtain on their latest project, Deadlock! And guess what? They did it in the most understated way possible. The game now has its very own Steam page, proudly showcasing Valve as both the developer and publisher. The big news? Deadlock is currently in early development, featuring plenty of temporary artwork and experimental gameplay elements.
Right now, access is exclusive to a select group of playtesters via friend invites. So if you’re not in the club yet, you might want to butter up your gamer buddies!
While details have been scarce, Valve did drop an animated teaser image (which you can check out above). As for system requirements, they’re keeping it simple: you’ll need a 64-bit processor and operating system to join the fun.
Even though Deadlock was kept under wraps until now, whispers about it began surfacing from closed playtests back in May. By August, the game had snowballed into a gaming phenomenon with tens of thousands of players hopping on board as they invited their friends to join the action. Just last week, The Verge got an invite and shared their hands-on preview!
Today is particularly exciting as many streamers, including the legendary Shroud, are diving into Deadlock live! This comes after admin Yoshi announced in the game’s Discord that Valve was easing up on its public conversation rules. It seems like Deadlock could be another hit in Valve’s impressive lineup of multiplayer games; however, only time will tell if it gains long-lasting popularity like Counter-Strike or Dota 2, or if it fades away like Artifact.
So, let’s keep our fingers crossed for Deadlock! Who knows? It might just be the next big thing in gaming!
