Warner Bros. Pictures has just dropped the first trailer for their animated prequel, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, and it looks absolutely stunning! Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, known for his work on Blood: The Last Vampire and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, this film takes us back 183 years before the beloved film trilogy.
So, what’s the story about? Well, it revolves around the legendary King of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand. The film unfolds as Wulf, a cunning Dunlending lord out for revenge, launches a surprise attack on Helm and his people. They find themselves making a last stand in the ancient fortress of Hornburg—later famous as Helm’s Deep!
As the situation becomes increasingly dire, Helm’s daughter, Héra, must gather her courage to lead a resistance against this relentless foe. Talk about pressure!
Fans will be thrilled to hear that Miranda Otto is back to voice Éowyn! The rest of the cast is equally impressive with Brian Cox as Rohan, Gaia Wise playing Héra, and Luke Pasqualino stepping in as Wulf.
