Cybersecurity Chaos: Windows BSOD Takes Banks, Airlines, and Broadcasters Offline

Hello my followers! Today we have a major Windows BSOD issue impacting banks, airlines, TV broadcasters, and more businesses worldwide. A faulty update from cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike is causing affected PCs and servers to go into a recovery boot loop.

Australian banks, airlines, and TV broadcasters were the first to report the issue, with European businesses now starting to experience the impact. UK broadcaster Sky News and Ryanair are among those affected, with flight departures and news broadcasts disrupted.

Machines stuck in a recovery blue screen at boot have caused widespread reports of BSODs on Windows hosts. CrowdStrike has identified and reverted the faulty update, but machines already impacted remain offline.

IT admins are sharing workaround steps on Reddit, involving booting affected Windows machines into safe mode and deleting a system file. With cloud-based servers and remote Windows laptops affected, it’s shaping up to be a challenging day for many.

In a separate outage, Microsoft is also recovering from issues with its Microsoft 365 apps and services due to a configuration change in its Azure backend workloads. Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops!
