Hello, my fellow tech enthusiasts! Have you ever accidentally deleted a precious photo or video from your device and thought it was gone forever? Well, fear not because iOS 18 is here to save the day!
According to 9to5Mac, Apple’s upcoming iOS, iPadOS, and macOS updates will introduce a new “Recovered” album in the Photos app. This feature will help you locate photos and videos on your device that may have been lost or damaged.
When you update to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, your device will scan for potential photos or videos that could appear in the Recovered album. If any are found, the album will be accessible in the Utilities section of the app.
It’s important to note that the Recovered album is different from the Recently Deleted album. The Recently Deleted album stores photos you delete for 30 days before they’re permanently removed. As for the photos or videos in the Recovered album, it’s unclear if they will also be auto-deleted at some point.
The addition of the Recovered album comes after Apple addressed a bug in iOS 17.5 that caused some users to see deleted photos reappear in their library. Apple explained that this issue was due to database corruption and was considered a rare occurrence.
