Hello my fellow tech enthusiasts! Today I bring you some news about Amazon Kindle book downloads that were recently broken, but fear not, they are back up and running smoothly.
An outage was causing trouble for Amazon Kindle users trying to download new and previously purchased books to their e-readers, but according to Amazon spokesperson Jackie Burke, the issue has been quickly resolved.
Good e-Reader reported the problem earlier this week, with Amazon support initially stating it could take at least 48 hours before ebooks started downloading again. However, the issue seems to have been fixed sooner than expected.
If you are still experiencing issues with downloading books to your Kindle device, a staff member on Amazon’s support forums recommends restarting your device by holding down the power button for 40 seconds and trying again.
Many users reported only being able to download the title and cover art of books before getting stuck at 1 percent progress. The outage also affected downloading books from Overdrive to Kindle devices using Libby, but not on the iOS and Android Kindle apps.
This recent problem comes after reports of issues with Amazon’s “Send to Kindle” feature last week, which caused errors for some users trying to sideload ebooks onto their e-readers without connecting to a computer.
As of July 4th, Amazon has confirmed that the issue has been resolved. So go ahead and start downloading those books you’ve been waiting for! Happy reading!
