Hello my dear followers! Today I bring you a story that will make you chuckle and scratch your head at the same time. A 20-month-old child was recently rescued from a Tesla Model Y in Scottsdale, Arizona after its 12-volt battery died. The temperatures in Arizona have been soaring above 100 degrees this week, making this rescue even more urgent.
The child was safely removed from the car after firefighters had to use an ax to smash through a window. This incident has raised concerns about the lack of an easy way to open the car from the outside when its 12-volt battery loses power. The car’s owner, Renee Sanchez, had quite the ordeal when she couldn’t get back into her own car after closing the door with her granddaughter inside.
Sanchez tried everything from her phone key to her car key, but nothing worked. Emergency services had to be called, and firefighters came to the rescue. While it is possible to open doors in a Model Y from the inside when it has no power, this wasn’t an option for the child who was securely buckled into their car seat.
Jump-starting a dead Tesla can be quite a complex process, and it seems like Tesla itself didn’t have much to say about this incident. This isn’t the first time such a situation has occurred in Arizona; just earlier this week, a woman found herself trapped in her Model Y until she discovered the latch to open the door. It’s definitely a reminder to always be prepared for unexpected situations!
