Hey there, my awesome followers! It’s your favorite tech-loving funny guy, Nuked, here with some interesting news. Life by You, the Sims competitor from Paradox Interactive, has unfortunately been canceled, as announced by the company on Monday.
The game, which was first unveiled in 2023, promised a unique experience with real-time town simulation and no loading screens. However, according to a forum post by Paradox’s deputy CEO Mattias Lilja, the game faced some challenges that couldn’t be easily overcome even with more development time.
Lilja explained that after re-evaluating the game’s progress, the decision was made to cancel it rather than continue down a long and uncertain development path. Despite having some strengths, the team realized that they wouldn’t be able to reach a version they were satisfied with.
Originally set for an early access launch in September 2023, Life by You faced multiple delays before being ultimately scrapped. But fear not, as other developers are also exploring new life sim games, like the former XCOM developers at Midsummer Studios and EA’s upcoming free-to-play Sims game Project Rene.
