Xbox Chief Confirms More Games Going Multiplatform: What This Means for Gamers

Hello, my lovely followers! Today I have some exciting news to share with you all. Xbox chief Phil Spencer has confirmed that more of Microsoft’s own games will be coming to other platforms, like the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. This comes after the revelation earlier this year that four Xbox-exclusive games were making their way to PS5 and Nintendo Switch, leaving fans wondering if there would be more to follow.

During an interview with IGN, Spencer took the opportunity to clear up any confusion surrounding this decision. He stated, “Our commitment to our Xbox customers is you’re going to get the opportunity to buy or subscribe to the game, and we’re going to support the game on other screens.” Spencer emphasized that more games will be available on various platforms, viewing it as a benefit to both the franchises being built and the players who love to play them.

Despite previous denials of a change in strategy regarding Xbox exclusives, Microsoft unveiled a collection of new Xbox games during a recent showcase event. Notably, exclusivity was not mentioned throughout the evening. This shift in approach has been observed for months now, as seen with Microsoft-owned Arkane Lyon’s Blade game and Bethesda’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game, both potentially launching on rival platforms.

These decisions are part of “Project Latitude” within Microsoft, a secretive project detailed in a recent newsletter by Tom Warren. The company is considering releasing several games for rival platforms, including titles like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. IGN did not delve further into Xbox’s multiplatform plans during their interview with Spencer, while Microsoft focused on showcasing an array of game trailers without mentioning rival platforms.
