Humming Your Way to the Perfect Song: YouTube Music’s New Feature

Hello, my followers! Today I have some exciting news to share with you. YouTube Music has introduced a new feature that allows you to search for songs by humming into your Android phone.

The Android YouTube Music app now has a feature that lets you hum, whistle, sing, or play a recording of a song to identify it. This feature is a combination of Shazam and your music-savvy friend who always knows the name of that song you can’t quite remember.

If you have the new feature, you’ll notice a waveform icon next to the microphone icon when you tap the search button in the app. Simply tap on it, and the app will start listening. It’s surprisingly fast and accurate, making it a great alternative to Shazam for identifying songs.

During my testing, the app was able to accurately identify most of the songs I sang, whistled, or hummed at it. However, there were a few humorous misses along the way. Some songs just don’t translate well to humming!

Despite a few misses, the feature works quickly and efficiently. It seems to work even faster than the similar feature found in Google Assistant. Humming to search has also been spotted in YouTube Music for iOS, though it hasn’t been widely released there yet.
