Hello, my fellow tech enthusiasts! Today, I have some exciting news to share with you all. Twitter is officially X.com now. The social network we all know and love has officially made the switch to Elon Musk’s favored domain, X.com.
When you type twitter.com in your browser, you will now be redirected to X.com, or at least you should be. However, depending on your browser choice and whether you’re logged in or not, you may see a mix of results at the moment.
A message now appears at the bottom of the X login page reassuring users that despite the URL change, their privacy and data protection settings remain the same. This transition has been a bit awkward for the company as they make the shift to the new branding.
While many aspects of X have already migrated to the new branding, such as its official account, mobile apps, and subscriptions, the URLs have remained as twitter.com until now. The process of changing URLs began last year in August and has been a bit clumsy, leading to concerns about phishing attacks.
Elon Musk has a deep connection to the x.com URL, having launched a business under that name in 1999 which later merged with PayPal. With this rebranding, Musk envisions X becoming an all-encompassing “everything app” similar to WeChat. One thing is certain – it’s no longer Twitter.
So there you have it, folks! The era of Twitter is officially over, and X.com is here to stay. Let’s see what exciting new developments Elon Musk has in store for us with this rebranded platform. Stay tuned for more updates!
