Hello, my tech-savvy followers! Today, let’s talk about Asus’ latest gaming NUC that is making waves in the tech world. This tiny 2.5-liter gaming powerhouse comes with a price tag that might surprise you.
Asus has brought back Intel’s NUC brand of compact computers with a gaming twist. The ROG NUC models are listed on the company’s website with starting prices of $1,629 and $2,199. These miniature gaming PCs pack a punch but come at a cost comparable to high-end gaming laptops.
The entry-level model features an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics, 16GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage. The advanced configuration steps it up with a Core Ultra 9 185H processor, RTX 4070 graphics, and 32GB / 1TB of RAM and storage.
Despite the premium price tag, the Asus ROG NUC offers excellent connectivity options in its compact form factor. With six USB-A ports (four at 10Gbps speeds), Thunderbolt 4 port, SD Express 8.0 card reader, and more, you won’t be lacking in connectivity options.
While we haven’t seen the internals yet, Asus promises easy upgradability with three M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 slots for adding more storage. The ROG NUC is expected to ship alongside non-gaming NUC models in April or May.
Unfortunately, Asus has confirmed that they won’t be reviving Intel’s modular gaming NUCs like Beast Canyon and Ghost Canyon. The focus seems to be on these new compact gaming powerhouses for now.
