Substack’s platform has introduced a new feature – direct messages! Writers and readers on Substack can now send private messages to each other, similar to DMs on popular social networking apps.

Users can start a conversation from a profile page or through the Chat tab on the website or app. Writers can even add a “Send a message” button to their posts for easy communication.

Only connected users can send messages directly to your inbox, while others will go to a “Requests” folder for your approval. Creators can also choose to limit DM requests to paid or founding members.

Substack has been adding various features recently, turning the platform into more than just a newsletter service. With Notes feature resembling X’s tweet-like posts and content moderation policies similar to X’s, Substack is evolving into a social network.

Despite some controversies, such as allowing Nazi-supporting newsletters on the platform, Substack is constantly growing and adapting to meet the needs of its users. Exciting times ahead!
