Nuked Hey there, my tech-loving followers! It’s your funny guy Nuked here with some interesting news about our favorite platform, X. Brace yourselves, because it seems like X, previously known as Twitter, had a little hiccup recently.
So, picture this: you’re scrolling through your X timeline, looking for some juicy updates, and suddenly…nothing. The timelines wouldn’t refresh on mobile apps, and on the web, you were greeted with a frustrating placeholder message. It said something like, “Welcome to X! This is the best place to see what’s happening in your world. Find some people and topics to follow now.” Not exactly what you were hoping for, right?
Well, it turns out that this wasn’t just a minor glitch. Netblocks, those global internet trackers, reported a “significant international outage.” And get this, it wasn’t linked to any specific country-level blocks or filtering. Talk about a worldwide problem!
But fear not, my friends. Around 1:35AM ET, just after I hit publish on this article (timing is everything), access to timelines was miraculously restored. Hallelujah! However, we still don’t know what caused the problem in the first place. Mystery alert!
Now here’s where things get interesting. Despite the timeline woes, posting to the site still worked (sort of). Sure, your posts would disappear after a refresh, but hey, at least they went through initially. And guess what? Accounts you followed with notifications turned on still appeared in your feed. You even got push notifications for new posts! Talk about a rollercoaster of functionality.
Oh, and get this: there was a Space hosted by New York Times reporter Ryan Mac during the outage. And guess how many people were discussing the whole X fiasco? Over 800! That’s some serious dedication, folks. Who needs new posts when you can discuss the lack of new posts?
But wait, there’s more. This outage didn’t discriminate. Even accounts for big shots like Elon Musk, Support, and X CEO Linda Yaccarino were affected. Talk about a bummer! And to add insult to injury, the API Status page for the service didn’t even bother updating to let us know about any issues. Rude!
Now, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn’t the first time X has experienced major outages recently. Just last week, outgoing links were broken for a couple of hours. Seems like X is having a rough time lately.
And you know what’s even more frustrating? The platform’s PR account email responded with the same old “Busy now, please check back later” message. Way to keep us in the dark, X. So if you were hoping for some Premium service updates or any news on its status, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
