Threads Users Gain Control: Opting Out of Instagram and Facebook Sharing

Hey there, my hilarious tech-loving followers! Today, I’ve got some exciting news for all you Threads users out there. It seems that many of you can now keep your posts off Instagram and Facebook. That’s right, you have the power to opt out of having your Threads posts shown on those platforms. How cool is that?

Now, to make sure your Threads posts stay far away from Instagram and Facebook, all you need to do is tap on the two lines located in the top right corner of the Threads app. From there, head on over to Privacy and look for the option called “Suggesting posts on other apps.” Once you find it, simply toggle off the switches for Instagram or Facebook, and voila! No more annoying suggestions on those platforms.

Now, I know Meta tends to roll out new features slowly, so don’t fret if you don’t see these toggles yet. Just be patient and give it some time. They’ll surely make their way to your app soon enough.

Speaking of user feedback, it seems that Threads has been listening to all your grumbles. In fact, back in October, they mentioned that they were “listening to feedback” right before testing this fantastic opt-out switch that’s now being rolled out. It’s clear that this feature was designed to boost engagement on Threads, especially after its somewhat shaky start. But fear not, my friends, because things are definitely looking up now.

In fact, during an earnings call last month, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Threads now boasts nearly 100 million monthly users. That’s quite impressive for a platform that’s just over four months old. Sure, it may not have reached the “over half a billion monthly users” like Elon Musk claims X has, but hey, it’s a great sign of success for Threads.

And guess what? There might even be more exciting changes coming to the app in the near future. Alessandro Paluzzi, a brilliant software engineer who always seems to find new Threads features before anyone else, recently posted a screenshot suggesting that Meta could be gearing up to open the platform to EU users. This is huge because Meta has been holding off on launching Threads in Europe due to the region’s Digital Markets Act and its regulations on cross-platform data handling.

So, my tech-savvy friends, keep an eye out for these updates and get ready to enjoy an even better Threads experience. Happy posting!
